Schedule

The CPI Virtual Class begins on May 28, 2021.  You have two weeks to complete this.
This course will be delivered using a blended learning model.  You will need to complete an online course entitled NCI Flex - Education in the two weeks prior to this in person course. Once you sign up for this course two weeks prior to the in person training date you will get a link to the online course.  This course takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete.  This needs to be completed prior to coming to the in person training day.  If you have not completed the online portion of the course then you will be ineligible to participate in the in person course.  Port Huron Schools requires that you complete the online course two days prior to the in person course or they will cancel your participation in the in person course.

The online course will cover topics such as prevention and deceleration strategies, decision making and an introduction to disengagement skills for managing risk behavior.  The in person course will review the prevention strategies and teach physical intervention as a last resort and appropriate to the level of risk.

In light of the current COVID-19 situation SCCRESA is providing the following safety measures based on St. Clair County Health Department/ CDC guidance:  participants will be required to wear a mask.  There will be multiple opportunities to wash hands and use hand sanitizer. There will be partner work that will require touching your partner.  To make that as safe as possible gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided. Please wear long sleeves to mitigate skin to skin contact. You will work with the same partner during training activities. Chairs will be arranged 6 feet apart and the instructors will maintain social distancing.  Lastly you will be required to sign a waiver that acknowledges that you are not, nor have you recently experienced symptoms related to Covid 19.

Workshop is for special and general education teachers, parapros and building principals.
