This training is for GSRP staff not currently trained on using this model.  Participants will learn about the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning and how it is used in a preschool setting.  Teachers will walk away with valuable information regarding the Pyramid Model that include the benefits of positive relationships, and how the learning environment can affect behaviors.  Teachers will also discover the benefits of teaching emotional literacy skills to children and how schedules, routines, and expectations can make a difference in their classroom.  Participants will gain a better understanding of strategies that can be used to teach targeted social emotional supports, anger management, impulse control strategies, and problem solving skills that can be added to their teacher “toolbox.”  The ACE study and key elements of PBIS will be reviewed before participants have the opportunity to practice their skills.  There will be time for questions, sharing and group work during our time together.
