These 3-hour mini sessions will revisit our work on purposeful math in Home to School Connections and Dramatic Play through a mathematics lens. We will practice reflective teaching processes in the efforts to adjust for the sake of improvement. Multiple touch points will also facilitate the momentum to enact the goals of the first professional development session. How can we infuse mathematics into children’s literature that is not specifically designed for math? We will develop classroom-ready ideas of how to move beyond counting and engage children into quantitative and critical thinking. We will continue to practice and implement purposeful in-the-moment questions to explore life mathematically. All participants will leave the session with specific goals to implement and ways to assess them in the future.
