CPI Initial Foundation Course Blended Online and In Person

The CPI Virtual Class begins on  October 21, 2022.  You have two weeks to complete this.
This course will be delivered using a blended learning model.  You will need to complete an online course entitled Nonviolent Crisis Intervention NCI Blended Learning Online Course in the two weeks prior to this in person course. Once you sign up for this course two weeks prior to the in person training date you will get a link to the online course.  This course takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete.  This needs to be completed prior to coming to the in person training day.  If you have not completed the online portion of the course then you will be ineligible to participate in the in person course.  Port Huron School District requires that you have completed the online course two days prior to the in person course or they will cancel your participation in the in person course.
 
The online course will cover topics such as prevention and deceleration strategies, decision making and an introduction to disengagement skills for managing risk behavior.  The in person course will review the prevention strategies and teach physical intervention as a last resort and appropriate to the level of presented risk.
 
Current Covid - 19 policies and procedures will be in place and up to date at the time of the CPI Initial Foundation Course. Appropriate PPE will be provided and precautions will be in place.  If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to call with any questions
