The Instructional Role of the Resource Room Teacher

This professional development opportunity will take an extensive look at the role of the Resource Room Teacher.  Please note that if you attended the summer 2022-23 session you will not be able to attend a second time.  Topicis covered will include: Data collection, interpretation and use in the IEP to craft goals and objectives and progress monitoring of the goals and objectives.  Specialized instruction, differentiation, accommodation and modification delivered in the general education setting or in pull out resource programming.  Scheduling the instructional time for resource room programs.

You will be required  to bring student data for two students that you will be working with in the 2023-24 school year.  We will work on IEP development and differentiation/accommodation/modification of assessments, tests, midterm exams, final exams and assignments.  This is an opportunity to apply the information learned during this four day PD and implement it with fidelity in the 2023-24 school year.  Also required, is that you will share your success or struggles with the strategies that you implement via information gathering google forms twice during the 2023-24 school year.  It is our intention that this professional development opportunity will be applied to your current work as a resource room teacher.  This oppotrunity is offered over four days.  Teachers attending all four days will recieve a $1198 stipend.

Audience:  Resource Room Teachers K-12 who have not previously attended the 2022-23 session

Student data for two students should include:  current IEP, progress reports for the 2022-23 school year, report cards, goal and objective data collection, student's learning strengths and deficits, general education assessments, tests, midterm exams, final exams and assignments - as applicable.
