Stress Reduction for those in the Schools and Human Services
Are you stressed out? Is the human services field, working with children and other people, overwhelming for you at times? Are you experiencing feeliings of exhaustion, decreased motivation, or a hard time either falling asleep or staying asleep? If so, you're not alone AND research shows that these symptoms can be improved through developing a regular self-care routine.
Beginning this spring, St. Clair County RESA will be launching a new, all encompassing course, in Stress Reduction for those in Human Services. This course is also know as John Kabat Zinn's, MBSR or Mindful Based Stress Reduction and will focus on developing options for effective self-care routines through Mindfulness, Intentional Breathing or Breathwork, and Gentle Yoga.
This course is also available for Counselor SCECHs, under Career Exploration. MBSR is an evidence based practice in addressing pain management, and treatment for anxiety, thus being a valuable tool for those interested in careers relating Social Work, Therapy, Psychology, Vocational Counseling and countless others. Come explore the potential of MBSR as a potential career pathway.
Full completion of this course would earn 27 Social Work CE's covering your Pain Management requirement and/or 28 SCECH's for Teachers.
