Ornithology

Grades: 7th-12th
Cost: $25.00/student
This three day series will focus on developing skills necessary to properly identify birds in our
area by sight and sound. Topics will include binocular basics, bird topography and field marks,
behavior, shape and posture, habitat, songs and call notes. We will use taxidermy mounts for
indoor instruction and hit the trails in search of birds for our field work. Bring binoculars if you
have them. Dress for hiking and the weather!
Important Information:
● Programs run rain or shine.
● Dress for hiking & the weather!
● Our homeschool programs are designed for the students enrolled. Parents and
caregivers do not stay for the program.
● Programs are filled on a first come first serve basis. We do not keep a waitlist!
● Please bring a water bottle.
